Papaya and Oranges are fruits which are rich with vitamin C. Of course we love to eat more papaya at home in different ways as fresh fruits or in recipes. If you noticed I have shared recipes with papaya time to time. One of my favourites with papaya is  papaya milkshake which I shared few months ago.

Yesterday I had a good read and found these fruits are good for hives. Instead of just sharing the recipe, I thought it is helpful if I share some helpful information too.

Although it is available to purchase in any super market or even in weekly wet market (pola), this is a fruit grown well in the dry zone of the country. I like Ice Lemon Tea, but so far I didn’t try it at home.Few days ago I tried homemade Iced Lemon Tea with the high quality Ceylon Black tea I received recently.For this tea I used the samples from Dimbula Region(grown between 4000ft-6000 ft). Anyway, if you check my previous post about how to make a cup of tea, I shared some information about Ceylon Tea, which is popular as the best black tea of the world. Not only for plain tea, Ceylon black tea can be used in different tea recipes.

This is a simple drink recipe using watermelons and oranges. Watermelon is another favourites at our home, most of the weeks we buy some watermelons due to its refreshing taste. In this drink, I tried watermelon with orange juice and taste was so good. Not only the taste, I like its appearance and bright colour too.

Orange Milkshake


After the holidays I am in a lazy mood. Even I do not have a mood to write a blog post. Just thought of sharing this Orange Milkshake recipe.

Ingredients (for 2)

2 Oranges
1 cup whole milk
Sugar to taste (optional)


Extract juice of oranges.

Mix milk & Orange  together.
Add some more milk as per your taste.
Chill & garnish before serve

Pomegranate Smoothie

Pomegranate is a fruit with many benefits. There are many recipes on how to consume it, anyway making a smoothie is somewhat a simple & easy recipe.
Here is a simple recipe of making a smoothie from pomegranate.

Juice of a pomegranate
1 cup of unflavored yogurt
Sugar to taste (optional)
Some water

To extract the juice of a pomegranate,
1.Cut & open the pomegranate. Remove the seeds from the skin.
2.Put the seeds in a blender & blend until seeds are broken.
3.Place a strainer on a bowl & pour the blended mixture through  the strain .
4.Get the juice as much as possible. Press the remaining pulp on the strainer to get more juice.

After that,
Place pomegranate juice & yogurt together in a blender & blend it.
Add some water if need to make it more thin.
Add sugar if required.
Serve immediately.

Pomegranate stains in anything. So be careful when working with it
Use a clean cloth & squeeze the blended pomegranate pulp through it. In this way, you can take more juice.

Pears smoothie

Pears are rich with vitamins. And they are always good when it is fresh. I just tried a smoothie with it. Yes, it was delicious.

Here is the recipe

Ingredients (serve 2 glasses)

1 fresh pear
1 orange
1 banana
1 plain yogurt
Fresh milk
Some blueberries to garnish (optional)

It is better if you can keep the fruits in the fridge for about 1 hour to chill before preparing the smoothie.
Peel the skin of pear & banana & cut into pieces.
Extract the juice of the orange.
Mix all ingredients (pear, banana, orange juice & yogurt) in a blender & blend until smooth.
If you feel the puree is too thick, add some fresh milk.

Pear smoothie is ready now. Garnish with some fresh blueberries.
Serve & enjoy.

Mango Milkshake

Mango is a fruit which we cannot resist.Here is the recipe of how mango can be used to prepare milkshake.

Ingredients (for 2)

2 ripe Mangos
1 cup whole milk
Sugar to taste (optional)


Wash, Clean & remove skin of mangos
Cut into pieces
Mix milk & mango pieces together in a blender & blend until smooth.
If you feel this is to thick,add some more milk as per your taste
Chill & garnish before serve
