About Me

Hi,

Welcome to Food Corner, A blog with Sri Lankan Food Recipes & other recipes tried & tasted by me & family members.

I am a Sri Lankan living in Singapore. I learned almost all my cooking from the recipes found over web sites. However when I looked for some Sri Lankan recipes, I couldn’t find the exact recipe or taste as I wanted. I tried to adjust the way of cooking those Sri Lankan recipes reminding the way my mother & other some Sri Lankans cooked. Finally thought of filling the gap by sharing those Sri Lankan recipes with others & my blog is a result of that.

Starting this blog is the best ever thing I have done. I never expected this much appreciation from others or this much happiness for myself to do every day cooking.
I could find many friends through this blog & we could share new ideas, tips related to cooking.

Please feel free to leave a comment or contact me for any suggestions.
Again, thanks a lot for your visit to Food Corner.

  2. Hi Amy.

This is one site I needed - a collection of Sri-Lankan recipes. My 5 year old son learned about Sri-Lanka this year and had a taste of Kiri Bath. He's been begging me to prepare it. I've been hunting for it for quite some time. Your Kiri Bath is amazing. It is top on my to do list. I am happy to follow you.

And thanks for the lovely comments on my page.

  6. Amy, i have been to Colombo in the year 2000 for a 2 day stay. We stayed in a sea side hotel with a really beautiful view. Had some of the best foods there(especially, the rice was so big & it has its own taste). What a beautiful place with nice climate & warm people. Somehow the place reminded me of Kerala!!
Back then there used to be lots of police forces patrolling every few meters & they'll be vigil almost all the time. I'm happy now things have changed & I'm sure tourism is pretty strong now!! One of my favorite destination anytime.
BTB, you have a Great blog!!!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the visit to Sri Lanka.I've heard from friends that Kerala is more likely Sri Lanka, specially with lot of coconut trees...And there are lot of similar foods in both places....
